Description
This RK PRODUCTS kit replaces the bushing on a closing wheel assembly with bearings. Use this kit on planters that already have some wear to the closing wheel assembly pivot point to tighten them up and keep them centered. Having the closing wheel assembly centered on the seed trench ensures that your closing wheel can operate correctly to close the seed trench. To install this kit you will need to weld the bearing housing on to the outside of the tailpiece to hold the ball bearing. The closing wheel assembly is cast steel which allows you to weld the bearing housing to it. If the closing wheel arm is NEW, with NO acreage, you may be able to use a ball bearing without a weld on housing kit PR3143.
THE BEARINGS ARE A SLIP FIT INTO THE COLLARS. There will be some additional clearance in them prior to being welded. This is so that once you have welded, painted and installed the arms, the bearing will still fit into the sleeve.
